Yahoo Contacts Gets Facebook Connect

 

Last December, Yahoo announced that it would be rolling out a deep integration of its products with Facebook Connect, essentially outsourcing all things social to the world’s most popular social network. Today marks one of the initial demonstrations of this partnership, with Yahoo Contacts now connected to Facebook. 

 

Now Yahoo allows you to add your Facebook friends’ email addresses to your Yahoo Contacts via Facebook Connect. In the Import Contact landing page of your Yahoo account, you’ll be able to select Facebook (importing from Gmail and Hotmail already exists). Once you authorize the connection with your Facebook credentials, your friends’ email addresses from their Facebook profiles will be added to your Yahoo Contacts. Yahoo will scan the imports and delete any duplicates.

Here, I will give you tricks to Speed Up Your Firefox, so you can save a little time.

If you have a broadband connection, you can use pipelining to speed up your page loads. This allows Firefox to load multiple things on a page at once, instead of one at a time (by default, its optimized for dial-up connections). Heres how:

• Type about:config into the address bar and hit return. Type network.http in the filter field, and change the following settings (double-click on them to change them):
• Set network.http.pipelining to true
• Set network.http.proxy.pipelining to true
• Set network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to a number like 30. This will allow it to make 30 requests at once.
• Also, right-click anywhere and select New -> Integer. Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set its value to 0. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

~ Limit RAM usage.

If Firefox takes up too much memory on your computer, you can limit the amount of RAM it is allowed to us.

• Go to about:config
• Filter browser.cache and select browser.cache.disk.capacity
• Its set to 50000, but you can lower it, depending on how much memory you have. Try 15000 if you have between 512MB and 1GB ram.

~ Reduce RAM usage further for when Firefox is minimized.

This setting will move Firefox to your hard drive when you minimize it, taking up much less memory. And there is no noticeable difference in speed when you restore Firefox, so its definitely worth a go.

• Go to about:config
• Right-click anywhere and select New-> Boolean. Name it config.trim_on_minimize and set it to TRUE.
• You have to restart Firefox for these settings to take effect.

1) Pick an account that you want to Add the person to;

2) Create an alias account under that main ID;

3) Sign into messenger with the Alias you just made;

4) Go back into the account information, and click the delete button to delete the Alias ID However do not confirm it yet;

5) Add the user to your friends list in messenger under that new alias account;

6) After to have added the user, Immediately go and hit the confirm button to delete the alias profile;

7) Now the user you just added, will probably deny the request to add them, however you never get that denial because you have deleted the account to which the ADD came from.

The user will remain on your friends list for the main account name.

8. Use Word Filter

Word filter is another good option to be within your network and not let some specifically targeted spammers to arrive. It increases security too. You can change it by going to Yahoo Messenger main box -> Preferences -> Chat.

9. Be sure to Delete Your Profile after Chatting from a Public computer

Most of the users don't know about it. Whenever you sign in to yahoo messenger, yahoo makes a profile of yours in the directory Yahoo -> Messenger -> Profiles by the name of your yahoo id. There is an option by default at Yahoo messenger that messages will be saved as long as you are signed in to your account for that session. A good hacker can have access to that file and decrypt it to learn your private conversations.

What you must do if you are sharing a public computer to chat from, is, you can change it by going to Yahoo Messenger main box -> Preferences -> Archive. Change it to No, do not save any of my messages and you are done. Oh don't forget to delete your profile from Profiles inside Yahoo folder after you sign out.

The game features 34 single player levels, as well as 6 training levels, a movie-viewer and several other image viewer sections. This demo features only the opening three levels of the game.

The storyline of the game pits Marvel character Spider-Man against his arch nemesis Doctor Octopus in a battle to save the citizens of New York. Spidey encounters a slew of thugs, lizard men and other enemies including Scorpion, Rhino, Venom, Mysterio and Carnage. Spider-Man can shoot webs, crawl on walls, swing from building to building and perform several specialized fighting moves in order to defeat his enemies and solve the many puzzles he will encounter. The game caters to players of all skill levels and features a special Kid's Mode for the younger players.
